Hash House Harriers
CH3 (males) is picked up from the “ONON” Pub (Moon Mueng
Soi 1) at 16.00 on Mondays once every 2 weeks (next run is on
18-11, then following runs are on 2-12, 16-12, 30-12 and 13-01 2003).
CSH3 mixed Saturday hash is picked up from the H3 Pub
on Moon Mueng Road every Saturday at 15.30.
CUMH3 male hash runs from the “ONON” Pub every consecutive
(from CH3) Tuesday - pick up is at 16.00.
BH3 female hash (Harriettes) runs once a month on the last
Sunday of the month.
Pool
Friday nights 9 p.m. -
Chiang Mai Pool League is planning on taking December off. The next season will
commence on Friday 3 January 2003. A meeting will be held on Friday December
20th in True Blue upstairs dart room where all teams (current and new) wishing
to play next season will be asked to register and pay their 400 baht
registration. No registration fee - no play. It would be appreciated if all
teams wishing to play next season inform John at True Blue in advance of the
meeting on 20 Dec. Any suggestions, comments or proposed rule changes (fully
worded) should be forwarded to John at True Blue ([email protected] hotmail.com) no
later than Friday 13 Dec
Quiz
Tuesday Night at 8:30 p.m. – FREE
Quiz Night at True Blue Restaurant & Bar, 47 Moonmuang Rd (near Thapae Gate)
hosted by the authoritative (some might say dictatorial) owner Scottish-John.
The quiz follows the usual format of six rounds of 10-12 questions including
name the face-photographic hand out rounds. The remaining 5 rounds are selected
from a large list of ever changing subjects, all with a full international
flavour. The winning team receives a 500B credit (which can be used at any time)
with the runners up receiving a credit for 2 jugs of beer. It is emphasised that
this is not a UK or US based quiz but is truly international so anyone who can
understand “Scottish-English is free to join in. Contact Scottish John at True

Thursdays - 8.30 p.m. - 10.30 p.m. Quiz Night at
the 2nd floor of the U.N. Irish Pub & Restaurant on Rajawithi Road opposite
Denchai Photo Shop. 5 subjects and 1 handout round with 10 questions on each
subject covering general knowledge, music and entertainment, literature, science
and nature, and current affairs from the previous week. Top three teams get free
beer and prizes, and there is even a booby prize. Contact Quiz Master Paul
Pitcher at the pub.
Skat
Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. onwards - Informal
get-together to play “Skat” at the Swiss Pub. All welcome, very informal,
and relatively new. Swiss Pub is in the area of the Anusarn Market, near the
Night Bazaar, just behind the Royal Princess Hotel.
Squash
Every Tuesday, 6 p.m. and
Sunday, 4 p.m. there is an informal Squash get together for players of all
levels at the Gymkana Club. Professor Bob Malloy at Chiang Mai University has
been a supporter of squash racquets in the North for many years. And the Gymkana
is easily located for all. There is also an upcoming competition that has been
going on for 20 years: Bkk v Chiang Mai, which will take place at the Gymkana
Club in January.
