Are you pining for some homemade breakfast before hitting the town? Or maybe a light lunch? Stop in at Petri’s, a small neighborhood restaurant, opposite Kad Suan Kaew. Toast, homemade pita bread, juice, butter, jam, coffee as much as you like plus a big selection of breakfast items to choose from. Environmental education for free! Chiang Mai University’s Forest Restoration Research Unit is pleased to announce that its new education program can provide free training and extension services to schools and other community groups in forestry and other environmental issues. Events

Please join the Chiang Mai Choral Society for an evening of song and dance at Gongdee Studio on May 3, beginning at 7 p.m. This free performance, under the direction of Rainy Riding with piano accompaniment by David Wilson and staged by Richard Dixon, will feature songs from Gershwin as well as Bacak and other contemporary composers. Featured dancers will also perform to a Latin beat, and the program will end with a show-stopping song and dance from the 1950s. Gongdee Gallery and Studio has organized a painting exhibition by Wichit Chaiwong, the owner of Gongdee Company Limited, at Gongdee Art Room, which is located on Soi 1, Nimmanheminda Road. The exhibition opened on April 1 and will last until April 28.

German pianist Gabriel Guljakin will perform a concert in Chiang Mai on May 3, 2003, at A.U.A. School beginning at 6 p.m. Everybody is welcome and best of all, admission is free! Gabriel told Chiangmai Mail, “I will play compositions by Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.” It sounds like an event not to be missed. All listeners who enjoy classical-piano music are invited to attend this classical event.
