Government and private sector representatives attended the second general assembly on advancing Chiang Mai’s status into one of being the region’s airline and transport hub. The assembly was presided over by Pichate Sathirachaval, the deputy minister of transport, and held at the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel.

The month of August is ‘membership development’ month at Rotary Clubs all over the world. Increasing membership is one of the key goals in support of Rotary International. But Rotary Club Chiang Mai West knows that, in order to gain members, Rotary meetings have to be something to look forward to - and last week’s fun part was a Lady’s night and the birthday celebration of P.P. Dr. Tinnakorn and his lovely wife Pranom Sathhirapatya - Happy Birthday to both of you!

Amazing Thai Dance, directed by Ittichai Sokuntath (center) has added cabaret numbers to their nightly performances at The Peak, still using costumes from Mekara Costume Shop - which has now moved to 5/138 Soi 4, Thanon Jai Kaeo, Nong Hoi (near the Westin Hotel).

Representatives from APEC member countries from the Asia-Pacific region who attended the WLN meeting in Chiang Mai had a welcome dinner and reception at Khum Khantoke Restaurant on July 31. They were also treated to a traditional Thai dance show.
