Yes! We still know all the old songs and we
are happy to be here! It was alumni time once again at the venerable learning
institute on the hill, Chiang Mai University. Hundreds of former students
came to their old alma mater to catch up with old friends, take in the changes
to the ‘Maa Cha’ and breathe in the clean mountain air that infuses the
campus every day. Some 200 people sat Thai style, sipping from bamboo glasses,
tasting laab, kao neo, and gang keo wan. Some of the folks tried out some of
their old songs. Who says: “Lanna don’t boogie”?!

 If
you have to fly away from Chiang Mai, you can still grab a copy of your local
newspaper to read on the way out (or in, as the case may be), for the Chiangmai
Mail is now available at the lounges and public newsstands at Chiang Mai
International Airport. And not only that, you will find it at Chiang Rai
International Airport as well. Flight Officer Suthara Huangsuwan, vice president
and general manager of Chiang Mai International Airport, was on hand to
personally receive the first copies from executive editor, Dr. Iain Corness
(right), and MD Michael Vogt.
