The first Holistic Medicine World Congress in Thailand is on for April 23 - 25 at the CMU Convention Hall. Professionals from all continents will discuss, talk, and hold workshops. Topics of the congress will vary from ‘anti-aging’ to ‘yoga’, ‘the art of slimming’, Diabetes (eating out of diabetes), Sport (‘stay healthy, stay fit’), Detoxification (kick the toxins out to make life happier and healthier) and Feng Shui, which is said to be the ancient Chinese method to influence our surroundings in order to have a prosperous better life. ‘Talent Search Football Road Show’ – an all day fun event for the whole family will take place in Chiang Mai on May 1 at the 700-year anniversary complex. Promotion show for AFA 999 fan members, game stalls for boys and girls, performances, a chance to meet famous football stars, and a chance to receive a scholarship in Stefan Effenberg’s Asian Football Academy.

“Temple of Mankind” - at Mae Hea Road intersection, Chiang Mai, until April 30. This exhibition sees an installation of acrylic on canvas, steel, gold leaf and mixed media by Roongroj Piamyossak. Inspired by the temple’s gable and Buddha images, the artist chooses to present his work down to earth in a triangle form by putting them as close as possible in the middle of a rice field.

New Media art fest, Tuesday – Sunday, daily 9.30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at CMU Art Museum. Pathiharn Electron is a new media art festival held with the aim to promote awareness about new media art in Thai society. It takes place in workshops, exhibitions, screenings all over Chiang Mai at many public places until April 30. More than 50 artists from Southeast Asia are participating.

Life Is Nice- Photo exhibition by Decha Buranabanpot at the Chiangmai City Arts and Cultural Center is still on until April 30.

Panisa Gallery has a new art exhibition ‘Mood, Color and Voyage’ by Tanorm Kongchand and Narat Panmanee, through April 29.

The Bear’s Den A/C main bar & restaurant, Garden Bar & Beer Terrace, has ‘Sports on a Big Screen’ whenever a big sporting event is on, like Formula 1 or rugby. New opening hours - noon to 2 a.m. daily - lunches served from noon to 3 p.m. ‘Special’ all day big English breakfast has been added, in addition to the regular three-course Sunday roast lunch. Education

Childbirth Preparation Classes - Especially for first time parents who are interested in the Bradley method, Juanita Duong, Diane Smith and Lori Rowe work together to teach a series of two 2-hour classes that will help prepare a couple for the birth of their baby. After the birth, one of these nurses will also do a follow-up visit to answer any newborn questions as well as assist with breast-feeding if needed. CMU Art Museum is showing free classic movies every Sunday from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday, April 25: Mystic River – USA - 2003 Director: Clint Eastwood. Three childhood friends are reunited over a murder case; the question is - who is the friend and who is the enemy?

Subnotic Events Agency, an international event and entertainment company are organizing a fund-raising event with show and performers at the beginning of June in Chiang Mai. They would like to get in contact with small and medium sized charity organizations and individuals in Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand who need urgent funds for their charity project and are interested in explaining their project at this event.
