Today, May 1, all day: ‘Talent Search Football Road Show’ – a fun event for the whole family will take place at the 700-year anniversary complex. Promotion show for AFA 999 fan members, game stalls for boys and girls, performances, a chance to meet famous football stars, and a chance to receive a scholarship in Stefan Effenberg’s Asian Football Academy.

Fun Rally to Angkhang Nature Resort. The 8th Amari Rincome Doi Season Rally. Fun for the whole family with a one night stay at the Angkhang Nature Resort. Gossip Star Contest 2004 at Central Airport Plaza - the magazine “Gossip Star” will give males and females between 14 and 25 a chance to become a star and live a dream. When? On May 1 and 2. The annual Lychee Fair will take place during the month of May at the Provincial Stadium in Chiang Rai. Various agricultural displays, Lychee wine and exhibitions, folk dancing, local handicrafts, and of course the ‘Miss Lychee’ beauty contest.

Chiang Mai will once again host the Mango Festival for 2 weeks in May at the Buak Hard Park with a fair, ‘everything around Mango’ and the obligatory beauty contest.

May 29: Charity Classical Concert for Chiang Mai’s ‘Foundation to Encourage the Potential of Disabled Persons’. Classical music by W. A. Mozart, A. Borodin and Thai Folk music, played by M.L. Usni Pramoj, (viola), Tasana Nagavajara (violin), Kittikhun Sodprasert (violoncello) and Siripong Tiptan (violin). This means that airlines, banks, post offices and government departments are closed. If the day falls on a weekend then the holiday is ‘generally’ taken off the following Monday. Please re-check but Monday, May 3 should be an official substitution for National Labor Day (Sat May 1).

Amari Rincome’s May promotion is called “The British Table”. Traditional and contemporary British Flavours. It features Chef Adrian’s creations like chartreuse of poached salmon, English peas and broccoli with stilton vinaigrette and English pea coulis, or English style roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, Brussels sprouts and natural roasting juices (carved in the dining room by the chef). Childbirth Preparation Classes - Especially for first time parents who are interested in the Bradley method, Juanita Duong, Diane Smith and Lori Rowe work together to teach a series of two 2-hour classes that will help prepare a couple for the birth of their baby. After the birth, one of these nurses will also do a follow-up visit to answer any newborn questions as well as assist with breast-feeding if needed.
