Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 7 p.m. Romantic Songs at the AUA auditorium, 75 Rachadamoern Road. Tenor Ruediger Liesmann and pianist David Wilson will perform songs from Gustav Mahler, Robert Franz, Franz Schreker and Arnold Schoenberg. Lyrics are translated into English but will be performed in German Language. Tickets 100 baht.

Panda Road Show at Central Airport Plaza, August 3-12, 2004. Learn about the life of these bears in the Panda Exhibition. Experts will teach, Panda pantomimes, dolls, toys and souvenirs on sale for the ‘We Love Panda’ Project.

Mini Marathon Day on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 5.30 a.m. at Chiang Mai Provincial Court. Organized by the Krom Luang Rajaburi Direkrit Foundation and agencies working under the supervision of the Justice institutes in Region 5, they will jointly organize the ‘Marathon Day’ to celebrate Raphi, the father of Thai law, at the areas around the provincial court, on Chotana Road. Amari Rincome Hotel in Nimmanhaeminda Road celebrates all National Holidays with special Lunch or Dinner Buffets. On Thursday, August 1, the Swiss National Day will be celebrated with a traditional Swiss evening – a reflection of Switzerland’s long culinary history with an extensive dinner buffet of Swiss classics. Make the gastronomic journey through the cantons of Switzerland and experience famous classics such as ‘Papet Vadois’ which has been referred to as “a hymn to the king of the region’s vegetables” – the leek. Dishes will include ‘Cervelatsalat’ from Thurgau, ‘Buendnerteller’ from Graubunden and the popular ‘Siedfleischsalat’ from Basel. Unforgettable rich soups such as ‘Buendner Gerstensuppe’ and ‘Stein am Rhein Fish Soup’ from Schaffhausen will be featured. ‘Basler Salm’ among others will compliment the fish selection.
