“The Chicago Jazz Quartet” appears August 21, 2.30 p.m. at Television of Thailand (Channel 11) in Chiang Mai on Prachasamphan Road. The 2004 Jazz Ambassadors “The Chicago Jazz Quartet” are vocalist and trumpeter Matt Lewis, pianist Benjamin Lewis, bassist Lorin Cohen, and drummer Michael Raynor.

Allesio Monti ‘Live’ on Saturday, August 28, Gong Dee Gallery (Soi 1, Nimmanheminda). This world class guitarist will present a solo guitar performance, play his own compositions as well as some by 20th century composers. Admission 200 baht.

The Writers’ Group has re-launched itself and appeals to all writers to join their informal discussions and work critique. There are two meetings (each about 90 minutes); the informal ‘Scribblers’ meets on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss elements of novel and short story writing, while the more serious ‘Wordsmiths’ meet every fourth Wednesday to critique selected work of the members.
