Fund Raising Jazz Concert and Jam Session on Sunday, August 29, from 6-10 p.m. at the San Pra Nate Room, Lotus Pang Suan Keaw Hotel. Featuring jazz cellist Beate Starken from Germany and many local musicians, poets, and performers from Chiang Mai. Admission fee is only 199 baht for students and 299 baht for general admission. Free coffee & snack! The concert proceeds will go to the Wat Thaton Vipassana Meditation Center.

Promotion of Agriculture and Agricultural Tourism exhibition at CMU Art Museum, opening Saturday August 28 at 4 pm. The exhibition is running from August 28, - September 1, 2004, daily from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Clubs

The Writers’ Group has re-launched itself and appeals to all writers to join their informal discussions and work critique. There are two meetings (each about 90 minutes); the informal ‘Scribblers’ meets on the second Wednesday of each month to discuss elements of novel and short story writing, while the more serious ‘Wordsmiths’ meet every fourth Wednesday to critique selected work of the members.
