30th Larb Muang Festival at Kad Suan Kaew on Saturday, April 9, 2005. Who prepares the best northern Larb and who will become Miss Larb 2005? All afternoon until approx. 9 p.m.

Coming Up: Songkran 2005, scheduled for April 13-15, will be centered around the Wat Phra Singh Voramahaviharn Temple, in the vicinity of the Thapae Gate, the Provincial Governor’s residence and of course around the city moat. More information can be obtained in a separate table on page 2 in this week’s Chiangmai Mail.

Chiang Mai province is going to parade Buddha images: Phra Puttha Sihingh, Phra Setang Khamani, Phra Dabpai and Phra Fonesanha from the different Wats will be paraded on Wednesday, April 13, to let people, both Thais and foreigners, splash them with water. The parade starts from Nawarat Bridge along Chareumung Rd., Thapae Rd. and Ratchadamnern Rd. to Wat Phrasingh from 12.30 p.m.

The Writers Club and Wine Bar is showing work of young Thai artists until the end of May. Amongst others, artist Kom Suwanakerd, a graduate of Rachamongkon Technology Institute’s Fine Arts Department is exhibiting works under the title “Pace of Life”.
