SOCIAL SCENE

A Christmas feast with delicacies from New Orleans, Germany and Scandinavia was held at the home of Frank Weicks and Becky Lomax as a tribute to Christmas and friendship. Friends assembled under the tree, sang Christmas carols accompanied by young violinist Cosima Schaub.

Dr. Apichana (seated right) from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, together with her friends enjoyed the newly established Jazz Brunch at the Mediterranean Restaurant ‘Mi Casa’, with one of the proprietors Vittawas Teeta (standing right back) on hand.

The Scandinavian Community congregated in the gardens of Norwegians Anita and Fred Lambersoy (center, in their Norwegian national costumes) to celebrate Christmas with presents, raffles and a huge tree, but without the Scandinavian cold weather.

“Glimpses of Lanna”, a special exhibition at Four Season’s Sala Mae-Rim restaurant features oil and watercolor paintings by renowned local artist Louise Truslow was admired by (from left) Four Season’s GM Andrew Harrison, British Hon. Consul Jon Glendinning, Louise Truslow, and Sommai Lumduan from La Luna Gallery. The exhibition represents Louise’s reflection on the beauty of the people, flora and fauna of the Lanna region and runs until January 15, 2006.

The Lady’s Lunch Bunch December trip was to the ceramic fair in Lampang, and as usual everybody only stopped shopping when the bus was full to overflowing. The next Lunch Bunch is ‘pot luck’ at Annelie Hendriks’ house on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at noon. For more details see Community Happenings.

Alfred Herbold and his wife (left third and fourth) celebrated their first anniversary of the opening their company Fresh Farm, supplying the Chiang Mai and Bangkok community with home delivered delicacies, wines, champagne and more.
