A newly-formed group who want to ring in the New Year
with “Chiang Mai Voices” is coming together. Rainy Riding,
already well-known in Chiang Mai for her choral work, will be the director
– with assistance from others in the community. Practices start in late
January, and they would like to encourage more people to join to perform a

A matchmaker service of sorts is fixing up families
with pets who really need homes. The Lanna Dog Rescue, a very active
group in Chiang Mai, is determined to improve the lives of abandoned and
sick dogs that should have happy homes. Temples often act as shelters for
unwanted dogs. The Lanna Dog Rescue is working with temples by organizing
sterilizations, and pro-viding vaccinations, medical care, and food. For
