Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat

Voice Studio Entertainment Limited invites everyone to come and see the well known musical play “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”, written by the famous artist Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber; on April 8 for two performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., at the Kad Theater.

This musical play was first performed on February 4-5, 2006 and is returning by popular demand, because of many requests by the Chiang Mai audience who wish to see this musical again. Another reason is to give the cast a trial run before taking the show to the Bangkok Theater on May 13-14, 2006. A proportion of the revenue of this play will be donated to Baan Saman Jai to help brain damaged children.

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote this musical play and is also the author of The Phantom of the Opera. His other accomplishments include the musicals Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Starlight Express and Sunset Boulevard. His musical talents earned him a Knighthood from HM Queen Elizabeth II and he is uniquely identified with each of his musical plays.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat is a mixture of various music brought together in this play, giving an amusing twist to a serious story from the Bible. It is very easy for the audience to understand with its comedy and variety of musical styles. This play gives the audience the opportunity to experience various backgrounds such as jazz music with a sexy atmosphere, a luxurious background with accordion music in the French style and rock music with a colorful background. The play takes the audience through the whole gamut of human emotions, including love and hate, greed and avarice, jealousy and integrity, but it is done in such a way as to make the play an exciting and heartwarming spectacle.

With the combination of the exceptional vocal talents of the Voice Studio team and the emotional skills of the actors and actresses; the imaginative scenery and backcloths and the eager anticipation of audiences who have already enjoyed at the previous showing, it could be said that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat can expect a rapturous welcome on its return to Chiang Mai. It is the latest musical play produced by Ajarn Thianchai Sookthiang and directed by Maroot Sarowat.
