Any visitor to Chiang Mai, having shopped till they dropped and become satiated with a surfeit of temples and market places, perhaps feels the need for a change of scenery and some fresh air. A trip that fulfils all these criteria is to take a leisurely 100 km drive north to the sleepy town of Fang, situated in a stunningly beautiful mountainous area near the Thai-Burmese border. In this area close by Fang, known locally as the “Rose of the North” you will find the Doi Angkhang Nature Resort, located in the mountains just to the west of the town.

And so at last the final showdown was upon us- I say “at last” because the semi final had been played back in December 2005, and the (dis)organising committee had then proceeded to play out a saga of delays, excuses and deceit over the final.

Central Airport Plaza invites children to see Central Aquarium

During summer vacation, Central Airport Plaza Chiang Mai would like to persuade kids to experience undersea atmosphere to learn species of fishes in the largest tank of the north, “Central Aquarium”. Water in the tank is purified as biological system by filtering suspended solids out and ozone reduces protein in the seawater tank besides germ killed by UV, air is added and temperature controlled by Heatexeanger standing 28-30 Celsius degree.

The Chiangmai Expats Club (CEC) meeting was held on Saturday, March 25, at the Chiangmai Orchid Hotel. Following the regular order of business, Tom Matty, CEC vice-president, introduced the guest speaker, Christopher G. Moore, world renowned writer, commentator and speaker. Moore, who hails from Canada and now living in Bangkok, has authored one best-seller after another during his more than twenty years as a writer.
