The American Consulate General
would like to invite all U.S. passport holders and their guests to come to
the American Consulate (at 387 Wichayanond Road) and join in on another
exciting July 4th extravaganza.
To be featured from 4 to 8 p.m.: hot dogs, Budweiser, Fresca, live
entertainment every hour including a rousing rendition of “Boogie Woogie
Bugle Boy,” Consular Services information, a Bouncy Castle, fabulous door
prizes like airline tickets, a free crafts booth, The American Store, a
rousing sing-along and fireworks filling the sky at 8 p.m. If you have
friends who aren’t American, they may come as guests of an American
passport holder, provided their ID or passport number is received by e-mail
at the Consulate by Monday, July 3, at noon. Admission is 50 baht for

The Korean-Japanese experimental music duo ‘10’ will
give a concert at Payap University. Performers are ‘Marqido’, who
is a laptop artist from Tokyo, and ‘ito’, who plays a wide array of
acoustic and electronic instruments, including piano, organ and keyboards.

A Cancer Support Group in Chiang Mai is being set

‘Overstay fine’ more than doubles! The Thai
Immigration Bureau has announced that the overstay fine will be changed from
200 baht per day to 500 baht per day effective Wednesday, March 15. This may
be of particular interest to tourists, visiting guests, maids, and
contractors.
