“By appointment to Their Majesties The Kings of Siam”,  to mark the occasion of the Sixtieth Anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne.  Forty original photographs from the 1860s to 1890s by two royal court photographers Francis Chit and William Kennett Loftus from the collection of Ton Peek Photography, The Netherlands. Brought to Chiang Mai by Mr. Aart Roffel (The organizer) M.D. of Domi Duca Asia and Residence Magazine. At Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai, from 8 July - 11 July 2006.   Every day 10.00 - 20.00 hrs. An exhibition of paintings of artists from all over Thailand: “60 Years of HM the King’s Hard Work” from June 5 – 30 at 2nd floor, Northern Village, Central Airport Plaza Department Store, Chiang Mai.

The Korean-Japanese experimental music duo ‘10’ will give a concert at Payap University.  Performers are ‘Marqido’, who is a laptop artist from Tokyo, and ‘ito’, who plays a wide array of acoustic and electronic instruments, including piano, organ and keyboards. Exhibition:”The Natural Treasure Lanna…The Charm of the North” a Painting Exhibition by Jay Surasen at Exhibition Centre, Sofitel Central Plaza Bangkok from 1st – 30th June 2006 at 9.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. Part of the proceeds from the sale of work during the exhibition will be donated to “The Earth Safe Project for Conservaton of The Ping River Water Source” Amphur Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai Province.

‘Overstay fine’ more than doubles! The Thai Immigration Bureau has announced that the overstay fine will be changed from 200 baht per day to 500 baht per day effective Wednesday, March 15. This may be of particular interest to tourists, visiting guests, maids, and contractors.
