A Painter’s Paradise?

A Painter’s Paradise?

Dear Sir,
On my recent visit to the “Rose of the North” I was appalled to see the deterioration in Chiang Mai since my last visit a few years ago. Crumbling buildings, torn up roads and dirty streets with dumped garbage, but what is worse is the condition of the painted houses and walls. Instead of pristine white, they are dingy grey with black fungus everywhere. Does Chiang Mai no longer have any civic pride? A few liters of paint and a broad brush for every household would transform the city. Do it now, before the international tourists decide to go to other, cleaner, destinations.
