“Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
Chiang Mai International School’s “Moms in Touch”
prayer group recently hosted their annual lunch for our school’s senior
class. The women in this group have been faithfully praying all year long
for all of our students and staff, but this very special event represents
the culmination of their care for our CMIS graduates.
After enjoying a terrific lunch of submarine sandwiches, cake, and chocolate
fondue, the seniors were treated to a reading of Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the
Places You’ll Go,” a book that holds many poignant and pertinent
sentiments for graduating students. Particularly appropriate for our seniors
is the following quote: “You’ll be on your way up! You’ll be seeing
great sights! You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.”
The CMIS Graduating Class of 2006 are indeed high fliers who will soon be
commencing university studies in the following places: in the U.S. – Duke
University, Houghton; Marymount Manhatten College, Wheaton; Lee University,
Asbury; San Francisco State University; APU, Clark University, Harding
In Canada – Trinity Western University;
In Switzerland – Les Roches;
In Australia – University of Woolongong;
In Thailand – Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Payap
University, Chiang Mai University; and
In Korea – Seoul, Yonsei, and/or Koryo Universities.
The areas of study our students will be entering include: political science,
engineering, education, health science, international relations, biology,
hospitality/hotel management, economics, music performance, graphic design,
business management, entertainment media, math and science, art and theatre,
travel industry management, humanities, liberal arts, and fine arts.
The entire CMIS community is justly proud of its graduating class of 2006,
and to quote Dr. Seuss, “You’re off to Great Places! Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting. So … get on your way!”
