Chiang Mai’s ZONTA International will be staging a Run and Walk Rally on Mother’s Day, Saturday August 12th at the Chiang Mai Night Safari to raise funds for women and children in our community who are affected by HIV/Aids. Everyone is invited to the fun event which starts off at 6:30am at the park. To get there, just follow the signs along Hangdong Road and/or Chonlaprathan Road. Scholarships to study in the United States: Suitably qualified Northern Thai Students aged 15-18 years are invited to apply to Trans World Education Ltd., (TWE) for details on scholarships to study at US High Schools during the academic year of 2008-2009. TWE along with the Centre of Cultural Exchange in the US arranges for Northern Thai students to live with host families during their stay.  Chiang Mai Hash House Harriers: We’ve been running and drinking on Saturdays since 1991. Our current committee has over 125 years of combined experience to assure you of a HASH to remember for all the right reasons. We have excellent runs in the most beautiful area in Southeast Asia and plenty of ice cold beer to slake your thirst. Every Friday night from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm we are putting on a free concert at Suan Buak Hard park, on the south end of the moat. We invite every one to come. ‘Overstay fine’ more than doubles! The Thai Immigration Bureau has announced that the overstay fine has changed from 200 baht per day to 500 baht per day the increase was brought in on March 15. This may be of particular interest to tourists, visiting guests, maids, and contractors.
