Staff Reporters
An exhibition of a stamp bearing the image of “Khun Thong Daeng”, a dog
belonging to HM the King, was held at Kad Suan Kaew department store between
September 1 and 7. The exhibition aimed to allow interested people to view
and reserve one of the limited edition stamps.

Stamps
with the image HM the King’s dog, “Khun Thong Daeng.”
Thong Daeng is a female dog and the seventeenth dog belonging to HM the
King. She was born on November 7, 1998, on a street near Pattana Doctorial
Center on Phraram 9 Road, Bangkok. A doctor presented Thong Daeng to the
King while he was presiding over the opening of the Pattana Doctorial
Center. Thong Daeng was put in the care of a stepmother, “Mali”, who had
just given birth to a litter of nine puppies the day before. Thong Daeng has
given birth to nine puppies, all fathered by Thong Thae, another of the
King’s dogs.
The exhibition featured a number of other activities, including a
questionnaire, games and a photo booth. Many people reserved one of the Khun
Thong Daeng stamps and bought souvenirs with her image upon them.
