Pojaman fails to testify
at AEC panel
Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra, wife of the ousted Prime
Minister, informed the Assets Examination Committee (AEC) through her lawyer
that she will not to testify before its inquiry committee on the sale of
Shin Corp shares.
Mr. Somporn Pongsuwan, a Shinawatra family’s lawyer, told reporters before
meeting the ASC inquiry committee that he would submit Khunying Pojaman’s
notice on her refusal to give information about Shin Corp shares.
The lawyer said Khunying Pojaman is currently abroad, and not ill.
Khunying Pojaman’s latest stance was along the same line as her son,
Panthongtae, who stonewalled the AEC inquiry last Wednesday.
Viroj Laohaphan, chief of the inquiry subcommittee, said that his team would
have to consult the AEC on the next step towards the case.
Dr Kaewsan Atipoti, an AEC member, said the panel would have to decide on
further action now that the witness (Khunying Pojaman) failed to show up
before AEC investigators many times.
“We may have to eliminate this witness and find information from other
sources,” Kaewsan said. TNA
