80 orphaned children to attend Youth Camp

This group of children attended one of the previous Youth Camps held
at the School for Life.

The next Youth Camp is to be held August 14th through the 16th where 80 orphaned boys and girls will spend their time participating in numerous activities provided by the School for Life on the outskirts of Chiang Mai.
Since 2006 the School for Life Chiang Mai has organized Youth Camp, which is intended to eventually support the School for Life in terms of financing and marketing. The Youth Camp was designed in the framework of the center Organic Farming, Cultural Sensitive Tourism and Cultural Heritage & Development.
Children at the camp are introduced to nature and its resources. For an increasingly urban population, this is meant as emphasizing the importance of being in touch with nature – teaching children the meanings of agriculture and the environment.
Activities at the camp include the following: Becoming self-sufficient, the forest as a supermarket, traditional Thai cooking, learning English by direct and real situations, entrepreneurial skills at a local market, music and dance, a workshop on “Organic Agriculture,” creating handicraft products, team work building among other activities.
