Lanna School celebrated King Chulalongkorn day

Since Lanna International School was on break during one of the most important Thai holidays of the year, Chulalongkorn Day, displays have been put up around the school reminding the students of all countries about one of Thailand’s most remarkable and beloved kings.

Lanna International School students look over the displays featuring the history and life of King Chulalongkorn.
One board displayed artwork and stories by the students in the Thai elementary classes. In the library, another displayed photos and a description of the life of Chulalongkorn in Thai language. A remarkable presentation was put into hallway glass display cases that featured many items related to the beloved King. These included statues, busts, photos, and illustrations.
The rarest item of all of was an actual autograph of Chulalongkorn signed on a receipt thanking a donor for a contribution to the restoration of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Genuine autographs of his are extremely rare outside of government archives and some private collections.
All of these displays truly made the spirit, accomplishments and greatness of the well loved King come much more alive not only for the Thai students at Lanna but also peaked a lot of interest and excitement among the other international students and staff.
Lanna demonstrated its pride and sincere appreciation of its cultural heritage in dynamic and interesting ways this year.
