Ukrainian Dance Performance. World tour by the Vechovyna Ensemble; consisting of 120 dancers of all ages. 38th Chiang Mai Flower Festival 1st until 3rd February at Nong Buak Hat Park. Grand Opening at Narawat Bridge outside the Governor’s Residence at 8am 2nd February. Floats decorated with flowers will then parade up Thapae Road, around the moat area to Hat Park. Also agricultural exhibitions, floral and food stalls, "finest orchid" competitions. Stage performances in the early evenings.

Chiang Mai International Heritage Festival 2008 at Lanna Lanna Polytechnical College sports field (next to Lanna Hospital on Superhighway). 5th - 9th March, booths operate from 7th - 9th March, 16.00 - 22.00 hrs. Hot Air Balloon Weddings will happen early on Saturday morning 8th March. Deadline for international booth applications is 1st February. Check www.chiangmaiheritage.com for updates.

Fine Arts Museum C.M.U. Nimmanheiminda Rd. Until 30 January: ‘Artspace Germany’ featuring art works by German artists Marianne Eigenheer, Ayse Erkmen, Joseph Kosuth and more. ‘Hidden Japan’: A look at Nature in Japan by Yahagi Kijuro, photographic exhibition. 1st until 10 February: ‘In my Mother’s Footsteps’ by Yishay Garbasz, photographic exhibition during World War II and the Holocaust. *The Gate Theatre Group will restage their hit production The Dodo Bird at the AUA auditorium 25 Rajadamoen Rd. ‘The Dodo Bird’ is an intense one act drama which explores what it means to live on the fringe of society, to be a man who failed to achieve the universal dream of being able to sustain himself and his family and ceased to live by the culture’s standards.
