Can that be accidentally?

Dear Editor,
While perusing the March 25 issue (long may it thrive!), I noticed 2 articles on natural gas development in Thailand. Page 4 carried the Chevron article; page 5 carried the article by the PM and his reference to the “new gas resources” found in Myanmar. Might there be a connection between Chevron’s plans to develop a gas field here and PM Samak’s recent negotiations? He clearly states that Myanmar is a trading partner and we should “not pick on them”. Does Chevron hold the same position?

Please stick to Songkran rules

Dear Editor,
Hopefully this will appear in your paper before Songkran, and be read by some of the thousands of Tourists coming to Chiang Mai. I wish them all, along with everyone here, a very Happy Songkran. However, please remember not to squirt water or throw water when the sun goes down. Last year I nearly came off my bike because some farangs thought it a laugh to squirt motorcyclists with their waterguns, while safely hidden in the bar, at 9.30 pm. This is not only against the Thai culture - but very dangerous. Water should be thrown during daylight hours only.
Happy Songkran everyone
Elsie
