64 teams qualify for Grand Final
Singha Corporate Challenge 2008 Round 4
The fourth and final qualifying round for the Singha Corporate Challenge
2008 was played on Sunday September 21 at Chiang Mai Highlands Golf & Spa
Resort. Once again the qualifying round was sold out with golfers attempting
to qualify to the Grand Final where the winning team will win a trip for two
to Sri Lanka on Sri Lankan Airlines to play the world renowned Victoria Golf
& Country Resort.
Victoria Golf & Country Resort and Sri Lankan Airlines teamed with Boonrawd
Breweries, the Sports Authority of Thailand, Chedi, AIS, Oasis Spa, Pepsi,
Chevrolet, Kasikorn Leasing, The Nation, Weerakit Company, Passport to
Suvannaphoum, Rimping Supermarket, Ratti Lanna Riverside Spa Resort, MSIG
Insurance Solutions, Subpermboon and Muang Kaew Golf Course in Bangkok to
support this year’s tournament series.
The tournament series consisted of 4 qualifying rounds with over 500 golfers
in total. From that, 64 teams have qualified for the Grand Final that will
be hosted at Chiang Mai Highlands October 17. The champion team of the Grand
Final will join the champions from Bangkok’s Singha Corporate Challenge
hosted at Muang Kaew Golf Course on a trip to Victoria Golf & Country Resort
in Sri Lanka on Sri Lankan Airlines.

Now the real excitement begins as the 64 qualifying teams for the Grand
Final have now been determined and on October 17 they will compete for the
Grand Prize Trip to Sri Lanka to play Victoria Golf & Country Resort.

Gymkhana Club 110 year golf tournament,
celebrating 110 years of the Club, takes place Sunday, October 26, 2008. Tee
off 6.30 a.m. - till 1 p.m. Golf, caddy and dinner fee is 1,000 baht.
Cricket: Chiang Mai Cricket Club
play at Gymkhana nearly every Sunday from October through to end of March.
Nets sessions every Sunday morning weather permitting.
ACC (Asian Cricket Council) Challenge U 17 Cup 2008:
U 17 boys Nov. 15 - 20. 40 overs per innings.
Start at 9.30 a.m. Three games at Gymkhana Club and at Prem Center. Six
teams: Afghanistan, Maldives, Myanmar, Thailand, Iran, China.
ACC Challenge Cup U19 Ladies 2008:
Play 13 - 20 Dec. 2008. 25 overs per innings.
Start at 10.30 a.m. Seven games at Gymkhana Club and at Prem Center. 12
teams: Qatar, Singapore, Nepal, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Oman, Bhutan,
Iran, Malaysia, UAE. Kuwait.
ACC Elite Men Cup 2009: Play 12 -
15 January. 50 overs per innings. Start at 9.30 a.m. Four games at Gymkhana
Club and at Prem Center. Probably 8 teams.

BH3 female hash (Harriettes) runs once a month on the last Sunday of the
month. Pickup from H3 Pub on the corner of Soi 2 at Moon Muang Rd. is at
3.30 p.m. during the winter and 4 p.m. during the summer.
