The British Chamber of Commerce together with Alan Hall, President of the Chiang Mai Expats Club, organised Chiang Mai’s first business networking evening on Friday October 3. The event was held in the Drink Bar at U Hotel on Ratchadamnoen Road in the old city, and was attended by over 50 local business people happy to have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas. According to Alan, similar events will now be planned on a regular basis due to the inaugural meeting’s success. Thanks go to U Hotel, its GM Yothin Uthaphu, and Jonathan Wigley, CEO of the U Hotel group, for the complimentary drinks and nibbles and the overall exceptional service provided.
Amongst the businesses represented were property consultants, local shop owners, local banks, restaurant owners, financial advisors, health insurance advisers and local bar owners. All those who attended said it was a great opportunity to meet and network with other business owners. One of the guests from Bangkok was Gregory Pitt, Managing Director of Mackenzie Smith Law, a British-Thai law firm with offices in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Singapore. Local business people who are interested in attending future events should contact: rachel @pfm-international.net.
