Due recognition

Dear Editor,
This is just a follow up to the letter to the one you published in last week’s Chiang Mai Mail, regarding the arrest of those two who were molesting the young girls in their care at Mae Tang.
As I said I would, I went to see Ajaan Somboon Jai-Ngarm the Principal of Perng Wittaya School, he was the one who uncovered their rotten scheme. The school is about 15 kilometres from the centre of Mae Tang. Kun Somboon is a very unassuming man, I told him he deserved a lot of credit for what he had done, he just smiled.
I gave him a copy of your newspaper and shook his hand. It didn’t seem enough though Ed, so I will go again and take a copy of this week’s Chiang Mai Mail to him plus a gift, I’m not sure what just yet. But I hope the local people all know what he has done, the young girls he rescued would be so grateful I’m sure.
Thanks for publishing the story. It was good it had a happy ending, well let’s hope it does!
Keep on keeping us informed of our local news.
Derrick Titmus
