Chiang Mai golf resorts to offer ‘green fee discounts’

The Chiang Mai Challenge Adventure Race 2009

Chiang Mai golf resorts to offer ‘green fee discounts’

Play golf at a discount rate at the Chiang Mai Highland
Golf and Spa Resort from now until June 30.

CMM Reporters
Chalermsak Suranant, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Chiang Mai office, announced last week that several golf resorts and courses in Chiang Mai have banded together to offer ‘green fee discounts’ until June 30. TAT is supporting and publicising the initiative, aimed at an already strong niche market. Golf courses in Chiang Mai are of international standard, and attract players from all over the world, benefiting the city’s economy in general as well as specific tourism and golf-related businesses.
The ‘Lanna Golf’ promotion will be offered by the Green Valley Country Club, (053-298222), the Chiang Mai Highland Golf and Spa Resort, (053-26 1354-9), the Maejo Golf Club and Resort, (053-354431-2), the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort, (053-849301-6), and the Shrine Golf Resort, (053-88 0888).
Further details can be obtained by calling the above numbers, or by contacting the local TAT office on 053-24 8604 or 053-248607.

The Chiang Mai Challenge Adventure Race 2009

CMM Reporters
If you’re feeling energetic this week, this is for you. The second edition of the series of 1 day challenging adventure races in the Amazing Thailand series takes place on Saturday, May 9 and will test your imagination and stamina with tasks such as biking, running, swimming and kayaking amongst the stunning mountain scenery surrounding Chiang Mai city.

The Chiang Mai Challenge Adventure Race 2009 takes place this coming Saturday, May 9.

You don’t have to super-fit, (although it probably helps…) or amazingly young, but previous experience of the activities planned and a good few recent visits to the gym, plus a healthy sense of self-preservation, would seen to be a good idea! You’ll need a team mate, of course; the race starts and finishes at the Green Lake Resort, and takes around 3-6 hours to complete.
Competitor categories are Men, Women, Mixed, Masters, (combined age over 80 years), and Seniors, (combined age over 100 years). For full details and information about how to register for the race, please visit http://chiangmaichallenge.com.
