As part of a two-day business trip to Chiang Mai, the Economic Section of
the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, together with the
Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce, organised a networking reception at Le
Meridien on July1.

Held in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, the event attracted more than 130
invited guests, and was hosted by Dr Hans van Santen, Deputy Head of the
Mission and Dutch Counsellor for Economic and Culture. Guests of honour
included the deputy governor of Chiang Mai Chuchad Keelapaeng, Chiang Mai
University’s Dr Duongchan A. Charoenmuang, Chiang Mai University and Capt.
Dr Duentemduang na Chiengmai, the ex-Mayor of Chiang Mai. Representatives
from the Dutch Consulate in Chiang Mai and the nearby Agriculture, Nature
and Food Section, local state & business agencies as well as press and local
Thai and Dutch NGOs joined with friends and business colleagues to ensure
the beginning of another sustainable and successful page of cooperation
between the Netherlands with her network in Chiang Mai Province.
