Exhibitions and concerts

The ‘Hoon Chang Fon’ traditional Lanna puppet duo, recently awarded the World Festival of Puppet Art’s special Award for Poetic Interpretation in Prague, have lost their pitch in the Sunday Walking Market as a result of taking time off to compete in the international festival. The now internationally famous duo has at present no way of earning a living. You can support them by hiring them at your next event or party. Concerto Music School presents a violin and piano  recital, given by Somchai   Wattanaprasobsuk and  Papaporn  Wangvisavavit, on August 1 at the AUA auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets at the door are .100 baht; for reservations, please call 091-993-3740 or 053-240-850.

Chiang Mai University’s Language Institute is offering a new non-profit multi-skill volunteer teaching programme which includes a Non-Imm. ‘O’visa. Volunteers can be placed in schools, hospitals, etc, according to qualifications and experience. Tailor-made placements in any field; commitment of at least 4 hours per week.
