Maejo University, Chiang Mai will host the 22nd Biot
Game competition from October 17-21 as a part of its sports project on
biotechnology aimed at Thailand’s university students. The event will be held at
the Biot club, Biology Department, Faculty of Science, Maejo University, with
the aim of encouraging sports for health and good relationships between
students. Sports covered will be basketball, valley ball, football, chair ball,
and a questions and answer contest on biotechnology, plus a modelling contests
for Mr. & Miss Biot. About 18 universities nationwide are expected to send their
Biot clubs to take part in the event.
The Seven Fountains Educational Sponsorship Programme
is currently supporting the educational needs of 450 children who live in
extreme poverty, paying for school fees, uniforms, textbooks, transportation and
boarding for those who live far away from schools. The programme’s annual Dinner
and Silent Auction will take place on October 31 at Seven Fountains Spirituality

Book Launch of ‘Songs of Memory, Traditional Music of
the Golden Triangle’, by Victoria Vorreiter on Sunday, 1

An Art Exhibition, ‘Moving in Mind’, by Kamol
Tamseewan, will be presented from 2 - 29 October 2009 at CMU’s Art Centre,
Nimmanhaeminda Road. Kamol is a talented young artist who made waves at ART
Singapore last year. His exhibition is based on images of local life in his home
village outside Chiang Mai, including a highlight of 6 large canvases and many
abstract and contemporary artworks.
‘Look at This’ Gallery on Nimmanhaeminda Road is
staging an exhibition of artworks featuring dogs and cats in conjunction with
the Care for Dogs Foundation, beginning with an opening party on October 15 at
6.30 p.m.. The ‘LOOK AT THIS DOG’ party will feature a fashion show with
gorgeous rescued puppies and dogs, an auction and live music from ‘Khun Den &
