Kids Ark Foundation, a Chiang Mai based NGO which helps children affected by HIV/AIDS to continue with their education, is having a SALE of their high-quality handicrafts on November 26-28, 10:00AM to 5:30 PM. The ‘Hoon Chang Fon’ traditional Lanna puppet duo, recently awarded the World Festival of Puppet Art’s special Award for Poetic Interpretation in Prague, have lost their pitch in the Sunday Walking Market as a result of taking time off to compete in the international festival. “The Splendour of Nature” exhibition, featuring the work of Ajarn  Charoon Boonsuan, will be held on Sunday, November 29, at 6.00 p.m. at  116 Art Gallery. Chulathat Kittibute, the national artist in applied  arts and contemporary architecture, will preside over the opening ceremony. More than latest 40 pieces of work will be exhibited and  one of his longest paintings (3m) will be on display to the general public for the first time.  Payap’s Ajarn Alessio Monti, well-known teacher, guitarist and composer, will present two concerts under the title: Alessio Monti and Friends.  At the first concert, he will be joined by the Kuala Lumpur Guitar Ensemble, while he will share the stage during the second concert with some of his Chiang Mai friends and students. D & M Music studio presents a Tango concert by Eduardo Tami, internationally known flautist from Buenos Aires, Argentina with piano collaborator Son Han Nah, winner of the first prize of Beethoven Piano Competition in Thailand 2009. Chiang Mai University’s Language Institute is offering a new non-profit multi-skill volunteer teaching programme which includes a Non-Imm. ‘O’visa. Volunteers can be placed in schools, hospitals, etc, according to qualifications and experience. Tailor-made placements in any field; commitment of at least 4 hours per week.
