Classic Cars at Think Park
The biggest ever line up of classic cars in northern Thailand saw over 70
smart vehicles from all over the world assemble at Think Park, opposite the
Amari Rincome Hotel, on February 6th.
Line
up of classic American cars owned by car enthusiasts.
American classics were the main theme, as the event was organised by the new
American Car Club Chiang Mai, which more than doubled the turn-out at their
first ever public meeting last year.
There were almost too many Chevrolets to count (some for sale) and a nice
smattering of Fords, pickup trucks and outright locally-crafted custom cars.
In addition there was a big attendance by Volkswagens, especially the Kombi
pickups and mini-buses (none for sale) which are really rising in
popularity.
Other Europeans, from Minis to Mercedes, pulled in the crowds to an event
which will hopefully become a regular on the Chiang Mai calendar.
Readers interested in old cars locally, many of which are available almost
totally rust-free, are invited to the next owners’ public display on Sunday,
February 28th at NIM City Daily (Rimping Superstore near the Airport) from
10.00am. More information from David Hardcastle on (e-mail): gmorning.david
