Chiang Mai residents honored their furry and feathered
friends on World Animal Day this month at an event held at Chiang Mai
University’s Art Center. Attended by various animal groups like Lanna Dog
Rescue, Care for Dogs, Cat Sterlization, Lanna Bird and Nature Conservation
Club, the National Elephant Institute and Elephant Nature Park, the list is
just a few of the exhibitors at the event, all encouraging locals to help
animals in need and respect animal rights.
Ana Gracey of Care for Dogs sang in her inimitable style
from a dog cage, in a bid to educate people on not keeping their dogs in
cages. Adults and children alike were encouraged to climb in the cage and
have their photo taken.
The event was well attended with many people bringing
their pets, a dog show from the Police as well as a dog training
demonstration. Telescopes were set up for people to watch birds in the trees
surrounding the Center and there were quite a few people who had a look.
