Siam Tulip Festival

Dr. Chao Duangduan na Chiang Mai, President of the Chiang Mai Culture Council and Deputy Governor Worakarn Yokying presided over the opening ceremony on August 9, 2012.

The Siam Tulip or Curcuma Festival opened on August 9, 2012 and will run until August 31 at the Royal Park Rajapruek. In addition to displays of this lovely flower and exhibitions there will be concerts in the Park, with the last one being held this coming Saturday, August 25, 2012.

The Grand Opening was presided over by Dr. Chao Duangduan na Chiang Mai, President of the Chiang Mai Culture Council and Deputy Governor Worakarn Yokying as well as Consuls and Honorary Consuls and officials from various organizations.

The flowers were supplied for the display by the Royal Project Foundation. Chiang Mai Zoo and Marine Landscape (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden Research and Development Center.

The Festival is open until August 31, with the park open every day of the week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Photos courtesy of Royal Park Rajapruek).
