The fabulous surroundings of the Chedi Chiang Mai was the setting of the
latest Skäl meeting, the organization of travel and tourism professionals in
the North. The new General Manager, Stefan Noll, was on hand to greet the
members and to offer them welcoming drinks.
Noll, the General Manager of the Chedi Chiang Mai is joined by Marc Dumur of
the Legend Chiang Rai.
Jaffee Yee came in from Chiang Rai with Marc Dumur of the Legend in Chiang
Rai and Frangipani Serviced Apartments in Chiang Mai. This busy man also
represents the Swiss community as the Swiss Honorary Consul. Annette
Kunigagon, President of Skål Chiang Mai and North Thailand invited guests of
honor to lead the crowd in the traditional Skal toast before everyone sat
down to a fantastic Indian buffet. It was noted that Chiang Mai is a growing
destination for Indian weddings although one of the major complaints from
Indian visitors is the difficulty in finding vegetarian food.
Skål Secretary and Treasurer Ineke Martens of Rowaco Asia Travel was feted
with a birthday cake as well as the traditional bouquet of flowers. The well
attended evening saw many guests including Jaroonrat Krasaesuk and Jeffrey
Warner of Encounter Thailand, stalwarts Frank and Vanita Sethi of Fashion
King, Lamorna Cheesman of Adorn at Studio Naenna and many other members from
around the North.
