Police Region 5 and the Office of Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) and Chiang Mai media held a farewell party for outgoing Governor M.L. Panadda Diskul on Friday, September 28, 2012. M.L. Panadda Diskul assumes the duties of Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Interior and Deputy Commander of Region 5 Police Maj. Gen. Chamnan Ruwdrew, Director of ONCB Region 5 Wichai Chiamongkol and Insom Panyasopha, President of the Northern Region Journalists Association hosted the party that saw police, ONCB officers and press attend. M.L. Panadda said that he will work to help Chiang Mai wherever he is and the Rose of the North will always be in his heart. Insom Panyasopha said that in the two yearsM.L. Panadda had accomplished much and that a group had filed a protest letter with the government to keep him. He added that M.L. Panadda had performed to the highest standard as Governor of Chiang Mai.

Four Seasons Resort held an Octoberfest beer and pool party at the Ratree Lounge on Friday, September 28, 2012. Guests brought their swimming costumes (and some did not!) to cool off in the pool. The evening featured beer tasting, canapés and 2 live DJ’s that kept the night hopping.
