Singer Ana Gracey and friends held a “Goodbye for Now” party for Ana on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Sudsanan Restaurant on Huay Kaew. Ana, a very popular singer in town, will be returning to the United Kingdom for about a year with her husband and daughter to pursue other goals.

The Chiang Mai media held a dinner reception to welcome the new Director of the Public Relations Department, Region 3 Tharnthip Thong-ngarmkham (center) and the new head of the Chiang Mai Public Relations Office Ubonrat Kongkapan (4th left) at the Public Relations Department, Region 3 office last month.

Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee and colleagues recently organized the planting of Thai herbs and vegetables to create the Shangri-La herb and vegetable garden. Many kinds of vegetables were planted in the area near CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, such as aloe vera, lemon grass, kaffir lime, chili, garlic, basil, sweet basil, spring onion, parsley and coriander. The herbs and vegetables will be consumed in the staff restaurant and as a component of Thai herbal compress balls for use at CHI, The Spa. This project also aims to help guests study and learn about the many varieties of Thai and Asian herbs and vegetables.

Handmade Chiang Mai, a partnership initiative of British Council Thailand in support of the Chiang Mai Creative City initiative, with Chiang Mai University CAMT, TDCI and Nohmex, held an information sharing day at 137 Pillars House on Monday, March 4, 2013. Handmade Chiang Mai is now accepting applications to join the website and the 2nd phase of the handmade chiangmai project.
