Mayor resigns
to become a monk

Chiang Mai Mayor announces his resignation to take up the saffron robes at Wat Chedi Luang to honor and repay the kindness of his late uncle Pakorn Buranupakorn.

Chiang Mai Mayor Tussanai Buranupakorn announced his resignation on September 6, 2013 citing his intention to become a Buddhist monk to honor his late uncle, well known politician Pakorn Buranupakorn who passed away on September 1, 2013 of heart failure at the age of 55.

Lin Ping returns to China

Lin Ping turned 4 in May and will be sent to a special sanctuary in Chengdu, China to find a mate. She will return to Chiang Mai in a year.
