Government proposes controversial cable car to Doi Pui again

A project long opposed by Chiang Mai people because the planned route cuts through sacred sites has been proposed again by the Pinkanakorn Development Agency; a cable car from the Night Safari to the peak of Doi Pui and Doi Pha Dam.

The Parade marches on

Yee Peng was marked by heavy rains on the last evening although revelers still packed the streets and the parade marched on. Yee Peng was celebrated in Chiang Mai from November 16 – 18, 2013 with the Mae Jo lantern release taking place on the 16th in a separate event.

Members of the Alumni Association of Architecture, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna held a bowling tournament on November 17, 2013 titled “45 year Nokhook Thapat” to raise funds for the “Fresh 45 Years, Nokhook Thapat, Lanna Architects” that will be held on December 7, 2013.


This time of year is perfect for al fresco dining, especially in the late morning when the temperatures remain cool and pleasant. One does not equate beer and brunch but Beer Republic offers a really nice dining experience for those who like brunch outside.

Le Meridien Hotel Chiang Mai and Italasia hosted the Aperol party at the Plunge Pool Bar at Le Meridien Hotel Chiang Mai on Saturday, November 23, 2013. The Pool party featured DJ KC from Bangkok and saw many local residents as well as hotel guests attend, sip on Aperol by Campari and eat the delicious spread of sushi, grilled meats and seafood and other tasty food on offer. Morris Dash, Branch Manager of Italasia is joined by Kittima Krudsuk, Sales and Marketing Manager of Italasia and Rojjana Gatasai, Assistant Manager of Italasia with the bartender pouring glasses of Aperol for guests.
