Launch of new Compass Gourmet & Cuisine 2017 and Gindee Magazine Guide

Krit Thanawanitch, Chiang Mai Deputy Governor (3rd left), chaired the launch of the new Compass Gourmet & Cuisine 2017 and Gindee Magazine recently at Central Plaza Chiang Mai Airport. He was welcomed by Suparb- Sawad Posolee, Executive Managing Directors of S.P. Publishing Group Co., Ltd. and Thanatchaporn Phongyen, General Manager of Central Plaza Chiang Mai Airport (2nd right). Also attending were Ben Svasti Thomso , British Honorary Consul (far left). Consuls from various countries, VIP guests, business owners and five stars hotels, leading restaurants joined this event. This year’s theme was Home Sweet Home Kitchen: Made with Love.

Former Miss Thailand joins DIAA Clinic Anniversary

Areeya “Pop” Sirisopa” Miss Thailand 1994 joined Dr. Danai Praditsuwan at the opening ceremony of the anniversary of the DIAA Clinic By Dr.Danai on Nimmanheimin Soi 3. The Clinic offers full aesthetics services including Spider Wed Technique and Hybrid Lift Technique. Dr. Danai is on the Board of Committee of Menarine (Italy) for Happy Life Trend Lift at Milan, Italy and is a new generation of aesthetic doctors in Chiang Mai.


Bollywood raises funds for a school water filtration project at the Holiday Inn Chiang Mai

The hugely popular fundraising event held by Frank and Vanita at Fashion King, Bollywood, was held at the Holiday Inn Chiang Mai on Saturday January 21, 2017 with hundreds attending and winning raffle prizes to fund a school water filtration project. The event was attended by many of the local diplomats with guest of honor Indian Consul Shirish Jain and his wife. Also attending was U.S. Consul General Jennifer Harhigh and her husband, Chinese Consul General Ren Yisheng and his wife, Deputy Governor Kris Thanavanich, Swiss Honorary Consul Marc Dumur, Bangladesh Honorary Consul Rachan Veeraphan, Portugese Honorary Consul Nuno Caldeira and Irish Representative Annette Kunigagon along with host Stella Jacobs, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Chiang Mai.


Skål Chiang Mai raises funds for Mae Mha Orphanage at annual fundraiser gala

Skal Chiang Mai held their annual fundraiser gala dinner at Le Meridien Chiang Mai on Thursday, January 26, 2017 where the group raised over 200,000 from silent and live auctions donated by local and regional businesses. Le Meridien General Manager Greg Anderson (far left) was the consummate host, purchasing his share of raffle tickets as well. Here he is seen with (from right) Martin Venzky-Stalling of Creative Chiang Mai, resident and local Rotarian Patty Schulze, and Holiday Inn Chiang Mai General Manager Stella Jacobs.

Chinese Consul General Ren Yisheng and his wife welcome the Indian Consul Shirish Jain and his wife at the opening of the Chinese Consulate General’s Chinese New Year Party held at the Empress Hotel Chiang Mai on January 24, 2017.


Famed Australian winery Wolf Blass hosts Masterclass with winemaker Stuart Rusted

Famed Australian winery Wolf Blass hosted the 2017 Wolf Blass Masterclass at the Shangri- La Hotel Chiang Mai on January 23, 2017. The event saw members of F&B staff and management from leading hotels and restaurants to learn more about Wolf Blass wines. The class was given by Stuart Rusted who talked more about the establishment of the business in 1966 by namesake Wolf Blass in the famed Barossa Valley outside of Adelaide in Australia. He discussed the various wines produced by Wolf Blass and entered into a lively discussion on the use of screw caps as opposed to cork, telling the class that cork will cause spoilage more often than screw cap lids and that the wine will last longer than with cork. He also announced the company’s sponsorship of Manchester City Football Club. The event was quite interesting and the gathered crowd gathered for a group shot with Stuart Rusted, staff from Vivaldi PR and Bangkok Beer & Beverages.
