Buono Italian Restaurant held their grand opening party on October 29, 2014 in a sit down dinner party that was attended by a large segment of Chiang Mai. Skål President and new Restaurant Operations Manager for David’s Kitchen Tim McGuire (left) is joined by Jenny Croyston and David Gordon, of David’s Kitchen at the grand opening of the newest Italian restaurant in town from Darunee & Salvatore; Buono Italian Restaurant and Bar on Chareonrat Road.


Nicholas Luna (center) held an exhibition of his drawings, mixed media and paintings at Sangdee Gallery on Sirimangkalajarn Road Soi 5. There was also a live hip-hop/jazz performance by Spectrum Impressions, .a collaboration between local MCs and jazz artists. Titled Prayntings, the exhibition will be on display until November 30, 2014.


Chiang Mai International Rotary Club President Roger Lindley presents a gift to guest speaker Dr. Rob Gregory, the Asia-Pacific Programme Director for Humane and Sustainable Agriculture with the World Animal Protection Organization and also co-owner of Tawan’s Corner Bar and Bistro here in Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai International Rotary Club is the city’s only English speaking club and holds meetings every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at River Market.


A reunion party for lecturers and alumni of the Department of Philosophy and Religion Faculty of Humanities at Chiang Mai University was held at the Lotus Pang Suan Kaew Hotel’s Pa Sak Luang Room on October 24, 2014. The reunion saw guests take part in a Kantoke Dinner of Philosophy and Contemporary Faith with students from the Department offering performances for the group.


Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai held a gala dinner in cooperation with Ambrose Wine offering fine food from Chef Alex and prizes awarded to lucky attendees including a voucher for the Cape Panwa Hotel in Phuket. General Manager of Kantary Hills Hotel Chiang Mai Magrin Promyothi (2nd left) is seen with staff at the launch of the dinner.


Nicholas Luna showed his most recent works at Sangdee Gallery at his solo exhibit titled Prayntings, which opened on November 1, 2014. Nicholas showed works in woodblock print, oil and mixed media at the event that also saw a live hip-hop/jazz performance by Spectrum Impressions, a collaboration between local jazz musicians and emcees. The exhibition is on display until November 30, 2014 at Sangdee Gallery on Sirimangkalajarn Soi 5.


M.L. Preeyapun Sridhavat and guests welcome H.E. Mr. Felix Denegri Boza, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru and his wife to the Chiang Mai Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker Suite on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Kad Theater for the afternoon performance.


On November 8 and 9 around 70 members of the Tong Sam Classic Motorcycle Club of Chiang Mai descended on the Baan Pan Kum Primary School in Samoeng to formally hand over the gifts that were purchased with the proceeds of the October motorcycle rally and concert held in Mae Jo. The items included paper, balls, pens, crayons, exercise books, games and other items. The group also handed over 100 recorders and 10 melodicas that were bought with the proceeds of the two World of Song evenings held in July and August. Paitoon Yolao, the club president hands over one of the melodicas to the head teacher of Baan Pan Kum Primary School.
