Oasis Spa Thanks Its Staff with ‘Style’. Pakin Ployphicha and Toby Allen, CEOs of Oasis Spa, hosted a staff party at the Furama Hotel. The theme of this year’s staff party was a fashion show. Each person had the opportunity to be a ‘runway model’ and greet the New Year with cheer and optimism. Oasis Fashion Week 2011 was Oasis Spas’ way of expressing their appreciation to their employees for their hard work during the past year.


Orachorn Chantarawiwattana, General Manager of Central Airport Plaza recently held a “Thank You” party for all staff in a “back to the past’ theme at the plaza fountain. Staff enjoyed the party with singing, dancing, lucky draws and food and drinks.


Makro announced the winners of a traditional Thai food cooking contest held for the Northern region, winners will compete in the Makro HoReCa 2011 contest to be held in Bangkok in March to vie for the Trophy of HRH Princess Somsawalee. The winner will also compete in the FHA Culinary Challenge in Singapore next year. On January 27, Uea-ungkoon Tanwisut, Manager of Makro for Northern Region (Standing left), presented the winning trophy to Kook Kai Food shop representative, seated left, the the runner - up was the representative of the Chan Pen Food shop, first row, the third. They received the wining prizes and cash of 30,000 baht.


The opening the Southern region tourism fair called,” Going to tour the South”, seeing beautiful forest and crystal sea water and get touch with various cultures event was held to promote Southern Thailand tourism at Central Airport Plaza, on January 14, 2011. Thawatchai Aranyik, 2nd left, Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, presided over the opening ceremony. Also with him, were Poramate Amatayakul, left, TAT director for the Southern region, Orachorn Chantawiwattana ,4th left, General Manager of Central Airport Plaza, Chiang Mai, Ekawit Pinyothammanothai, President of Thai Hotel Association of Krabi and Suppakit Polchan, right, Director of TAT for the Northern region. At the Opening ceremony, booths promoting Southern tourism, as well as the Southern culture performances, OTOP goods and demonstrations for the fair goers.


The ThinThaiNgam Rotary Club announced two new sisters into the Rotary family at their recent event at Chiang Mai Grandview Hotel. Dr. Zothansiami Ralte(Tete), a missionary living in Moo Ban Musikee, Ampere Galayani Wattana, born in India, she teaches at Sahamit School in Wat Charn, Mae Chaem and is the founder of the Hill Tribes Resource and Development Center (HRDC) now called the Galayani Wattana Foundation and Kay Fox, a volunteer at the Hill HRDC and American missionary living in Chiang Mai.


On the occasion of New Year 2011 celebration, ML Preeyapun Sridhavat, the Honorary Consul of Peru, Director of the Chiang Mai Ballet Academy and also the President of Ballet Jazz Club dropped by the Chiang Mai Mail offices to present a New Year’s gift to Chiang Mai Mail staff. Suthasinee Maneekul, account manager (middle) was on hand to greet and receive the gift from ML Preeyapun Sridhavat (2nd right).


Robinsons Chiang Mai hosted “Jeans Lover @ Robinson CM”, launching a promotional campaign for jeans lovers featuring collections from leading brands like Levi’s, lee, Wrangler and Hara. Bands from Rajabhat University and Rajamangala University of Technology performed as well as SEXY Dancers. The promotion was held on January 22, at the Central Airport Plaza and runs until January 27, 2011. Woravat Tantranond, MD of CR Chiang Mai (Thailand) Co Ltd, and Suriya Tancharoen, Manager of Robinsons Chiang Mai  attended the promotional campaign.
