Mae Jo Agricultural Fair and Exhibition in December

Orchids will compete for the Queens Cup at Mae Jo’s
Agricultural Days Fair.

 Mae Jo University will hold their annual Agricultural Days from December 1-11 this year, with a focus on orchids and other ornamentals. The Fair will hold orchid competitions, as well as flowering plants including Euphorbia, Marigolds, Zinnias, Roses and Chrysanthemums. Ornamental plants including cacti, euphorbia, and bonsai will also have competitions.

The initial judging takes place from the 1st of December but the event opens up to public display on December 3, 2011 at Mae Jo University and the exhibitions run through December 11.


International Hot Air Balloon Festival upcoming

Hot air balloons fill the sky with color for the 5th Annual
International Balloon Festival.

The ‘5th Thailand International Balloon Festival 2011’ which will showcase hot air balloons will take place in Chiang Mai from 25 -27 November it was recently announced at a press conference in Bangkok.

A stunning display of colorful balloons will fly above Chiang Mai, there will also be night time balloons glowing in the sky, and night light and sound shows with the theme of “Glow Night and Festival of Light”. The event is expected to draw 100,000 visitors over three days.

The hot air balloons will be launched from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m at Prince Royal’s College on Friday, November 25, 2011, the opening ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. followed by the sound and light show.

Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th will see early morning hot air balloon launches from 6 a.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. followed by marching bands, balloon tethering, night glow balloons and fireworks at 7 p.m. The Sound and Light show follows at 8 p.m.
