Faulty adapters

The faulty adapter

Dear Editor

After a fatal accident in Chiang Mai back in 2009, I decided to contact the Thai Customer Protection Board, to make them recall an electrical adapter with a potential short circuit between the Fase(L) and Ground(G). I have never received an answer, and would like you to publish this story to avoid other accidents in the future.

Just to confirm it was not only a design fault on one single adapter I purchased 41 of them, dissembled them to find that ALL of them had the same potential problem.

A fault current relay was not required in 2009, and I doubt it is today – use of this adapter in a household without fault current relay, could be fatal, if adapter is shorted between the fase and ground – it could lead to contact with the fase(L) on equipment that has a ground connection., like dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines and so on.

Please publish this story to make your readers aware of this safety issue.

Thank you

Kristian

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

With this Email we want to inform you that a press statement from Pakistan mentioning to have stronger ties with Thailand contains probably a capital mistake.

It is mentioned in this press statement that an invitation has been issued to HH Princess Maja von Hohenzollern from the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

This circumstance is incorrect.

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern is NOT a representative of the government or the state of Thailand, neither she has gotten an invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Princess Maja von Hohenzollern is the ambassador of the bilateral, cultural and social Organization Thailandfreunde e.V. (In Thailand known as Phuenthai German International Organization) based in  Germany. Further is Princess Maja von Hohenzollern a German citizen and member of the German aristocracy NOT the aristocracy of Thailand.

We have the opinion that they mixed up HH Princess Maja von Hohenzollern with HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the daughter of Their Majesties King Bumiphol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit from Thailand.

We ask y for an immediate correction and apologies to HH Maja von Hohenzollern, the organization Thailandfreunde e.V. and probably also the Government of Thailand and the Royal Palace.

We are looking forward to hear back as this is a scandal par excellence.

We can't accept such a terrible mistake published everywhere in the world.

With the very best regards

Dr. Dirk Weeber Arayatumsopon PhD

Chair Man of TF e.V. and Protocol Chief of HH Princess Maja von Hohenzoller for the Kingdom of Thailand

Pakistan looks forward to stronger ties with Thailand: Gilani

ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Monday said Pakistan looked forward to improvement of bilateral ties with Thailand in the days ahead. He was talking to the outgoing Ambassador of Thailand Marut Jipatima who paid a farewell call on at him at the PM House.

The Prime Minister appreciated the role of the Ambassador in bringing the two countries closer and especially enhancing trade, commerce and cultural ties, a press release from the PM House said.

The Prime Minister said he was looking forward to meet the Thai Prime Minister during his visit to Davos later this month where Thai Premier was coming to attend World Economic Forum.

The Prime Minister said the people of Pakistan and the government were looking forward to welcome princess Maja von Hohenzollern when she would arrive the country at the invitation of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.

The Prime Minister called upon the need of high level exchanges of security officials, businessmen and cultural representatives to accord further impetus to the cooperation already existing in these sectors.

The Ambassador extended deep sense of gratitude to Pakistan and the people of the country for their cooperation during his stay in Pakistan.

The Ambassador extended an invitation to the Prime Minister on behalf of his government to visit Thailand at a convenient date.
