Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn with a donation for the Sacred of Heart
Foundation, the girls’ school in Lamphun. She also received the Lifetime
Award for Intercultural Relations 2011/2012 from Thailandfreunde e.V.
The members also presented Her Royal Highness with a copy of the fairy
tale book "Der Siamesische Maerchentopf" and an issue of Le Petit

Mr. Tjeert Kwant, President and CEO of the new
shopping center in development The Promenada donated 300,000 Baht
raised during the Christmas Fair 2011 to the victims of the flooding in
Thailand. Mayor Tussanai Buranupakorn received the donation at the
Chiang Mai Municipality on Monday, January 16, 2012.

Dr Sarawut Srisakun, CEO of the Chiang Mai Night Safari, holds a
baby female Chamois that was born at the Night Safari on December 25,
2012. This rare Asian variety of the mammal was bred from a 3 year old
mother at the Night Safari and Dr. Sarawut noted that this rare animal
is a New Year’s gift to the people of Chiang Mai.

Zonta International Chiang Mai proudly announces Charter President
Somboom Suprasert and Canister Fundraising Coordinator Joyce Morgan have
received awards from the Zonta International President in Chicago USA
for their success in recruiting new members to the Zonta International
movement in 2011. This year's greatest global challenge is to increase
membership in Zonta International. Each has individual member made a
serious commitment to approach women who are open and enthusiastic to
participate in Zonta projects advocating the advancement of women
globally. The awards will be presented by President Jiamjit Boonsom at
the January 2012 monthly meeting. Joyce Morgan in gold and Somboom
Suprasert seated right.
