Rotary clubs join together to donate scholarships to needy kids in the city

The Koshoku Rotary Club Japan joined the Rotary Club of Chiang
Mai Airport to donate scholarships to need students in Chiang Mai
Municipality on February 2, 2015 at the Chiang Mai Municipality Office.
Mr. Nakamura Yoshihiro, President of the Rotary Club of Koshoku, Mr.
Kasuka Ken, Past President of the Rotary Club of Koshoku and members of
the Satooya Project led by Mr. Nakamura Kiyoshi and Mr. Paniwat Krairit,
President of the Rotary Club of Chiang Mai Airport met with Deputy Mayor
Suntorn Yamsiri and teachers who gave them a warm welcome.
This is the 12th time the Satooya Project from Nagano, Japan donated
scholarships, next year the scholarship donations will be funded by the
Rotary Club of Koshoku in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Chiang Mai
Airport. This time twenty four scholarships were handed out to eleven
Suntorn Yamsiri warmly thanked the group of Japanese Rotarians for their
support and generosity, noting the scholarships will be of great help to
poor students. He added that there are many more in need of financial
support in the city’s school system.

Faculty of Fine Arts holds thank you party
The Faculty of Fine Arts at Chiang Mai
University held a Thank You Party for the members of Chiang Mai media at
the Kuey Yuan Restaurant on February 4, 2015. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Woralun
Boonyasurat led the party and thanks members of the local media for
covering the Faculty’s exhibits and shows.
Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development to host The Love Show
The Love Show featuring intellectually
disabled children will be held on Friday February 13 and Saturday
February 14 Dr. Sanai Sririthongtaworn, Director of the Rajanagarindra
Institute of Child Development and Mrs. Jeanne Calvit, the Performing
Director for “The Love Show” announced recently.
The Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development and Interact
Theater Company will be holding “The Love Show” which will provide
intellectually disabled children the opportunity to overcome their fears
by performing on stage.
Dr. Sanai Sririthongtaworn, Director of the Rajanagarindra Institute of
Child Development and Mrs. Jeanne Calvit, the Performing Director for
“The Love Show” said at the press conference that the Department of
Mental Health of the Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development and
the Rajanagarindra Child Development Foundation had joined with the
Interact Theater Company to organize the show. Students will perform on
stage as well as take part in musical shows to give them the confidence
to overcome their fears. The project is being joined by professional
actors from the Interact Theater USA and a group of intellectually
disabled children who have been part of the project to train together
with the children of the Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development.
‘The Love Show’ will take place on Friday February 13th, 2015 at 7 p.m.,
Saturday February 14th, 2015 at 2 p.m. and a special performance for
foreign visitors on Saturday February 14th, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the
Theater on the 4th floor of the Piano Building of the Rajanagarindra
Institute of Child Development Center, Canal - 700 Years Chiang Mai

Supreme Administrative Court students learn about courts in Chiang Mai
Students from the Supreme Administrative
Court visited Chiang Mai to learn more about the Courts here and to
visit different areas of the province.
Students from the Supreme Administrative Court, Group 19 visited Chiang
Mai from February 5 – 7, 2015 to study the Chiang Mai Court system and
meet with justices here. Led by Justice Nujarin Chapraisri of the
Administrative Court and course director, the group was briefedont eh
system and rules of the Chiang Mai Courts including the Juvenile and
Family courts by Deputy Justice of Region 5 Courts and Justice of Chiang
Mai Administrative Courts Alisra Manajit on February 5, 2015.
The group also visited Sangwal Wittya School in sub-district Suthep to
donate bathroom items and school equipmet to the school. They also
visited Bhubing Palace to study about the conservation and propagation
of ornamental plants with Dr. Disatorn Watcharothai, Secretary of
The next day the group of students visited Phrao District to study the
Long Kod Project and they were also briefed about sustainable forest
management. Lastly, the group continued to Chiang Dao District to learn
about the Mobile Development Unit no 32 and the Pagoda of King Naresuan.
