Invasive water plants removed from Chiang Mai waterways

Chiang Mai authorities removing water plants, weeds and refuse clogging public water supplies to improve drainage and for recycling into natural fertilizers.

Invasive water plants like water hyacinth and other invasive weeds were removed from Chiang Mai waterways in a bid to ensure efficient drainage and flow of water in canals. The weeds were then taken to be cleaned of refuse and recycled into organic fertilizer at the Chiang Mai Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant.
