Three districts account for 90 percent of poppy cultivation in Thailand

 The Commander of Army Region 3 Lt. Gen. Somsak Ninbanjerdkul reports that three districts, two in Tak and Om Koi in Chiang Mai, account for 90 percent of all poppy cultivation in Thailand.

Third Regional Army Commander Lt. Gen. Somsak Ninbanjerdkul spoke at a meeting on poppy cultivation in the North noting that three Northern districts, including one in Chiang Mai, account for 90 per cent of all poppy grown in the North.
